Skarns are the result of contact metamorphosis of carbonate rock, such as limestone and dolostone. Skarns consist of skarn stone, other metamorphic carbonate rocks (marble and hornfels), as well as unchanged limestone. Geologica generates skarns anywhere outside of volcanic regions. Some skarn deposits are enriched for a particular ore or mineral. These include: sphalerite/galena, magnesite/vermiculite, magnetite, chalcopyrite/malachite, scheelite and wollastonite. There is also a chance of isolated lapis crystals.
